I had been a CD purchaser throughout the 80’s and 90’s, and had lugged my collection of about 500 CDs with me on a move from MA to AZ and back again to MA. When I read the article, I was somewhat skeptical, but since the source was reputable I thought it was time to step into the 21st century and part with my CDs. So the first thing I had to do was start counting and making sure all the CDs had the inserts that go with them. Luckily, mine were in good shape and I had enough for a new Touch. So I boxed them up, shipped them over (for free no less – they even picked up the shipping cost), and about 1 1/2 weeks later I received a brand new iPod Touch in the mail. It’s been about a year or so since I got it and still use it every day on my commute to work. It has music + wifi so I can check email and the web on the commuter rail here in Boston. All in all, great decision to give up the CDs and go all digital. Thanks for making it happen! |

I heard about iPodMeister from a friend who had used your service. I have to admit it sounds a little too good to be true when you first hear it. But, when we decided to move from a house to a condo I kept looking at everything (including the little crates full of CDs that I had on a bottom shelf in our living room) wondering what to keep, what to get rid of and how I was going to make it all fit. It was an easy process. You communicated well from beginning to end. I don’t remember exactly – but it seems to me that I had a brand new iPod back in less than two weeks start to finish. I still have – and use daily – the iPod Nano I got from you. I have no regrets and still tell people about your service. |

I heard about iPodMeister through my wife who read about it in a magazine article. I think it was in Newsweek. At first I thought it sounded like an intriguing idea, a good way to free up needed space in my house and was very user friendly, especially since iPodMeister pays for shipping. Originally, I did nothing with it. When we started to think about moving, I remembered her telling me about iPodMeister and thought it’d be a good way to get rid of about half my CDs (and get something good in return) so there’d be less to move. My music collection was a mix of several genres. It was probably mostly a mix of alternative and pop/rock, with a bit of classical and jazz mixed in. My CDs were stored in the front room of my apartment on a CD rack. I had a great experience with iPodMeister. The staff was friendly and easy to deal with. The process of sending the CDs and receiving my new iPod classic went smoothly and as advertised on the iPodMeister website. I love the iPod Classic I received in exchange for my CDs and DVDs. |

My CDs were mostly alternative and indie music. There were a few rock, classical, and compilations as well. I had them stored in boxes in a spare bedroom closet. I think I read an article in a magazine about iPodMeister. My first response was that it sounded too easy and too good to be true. But as I read about it and talked with the staff it sounded like a great idea and a fantastic way to get rid of my unwanted CDs. It really couldn’t have been easier. I told them how many CDs I had to send in, they sent me FedEx labels, and I took the boxes down to the FedEx store for shipping. The staff members I talked to were friendly and helpful and explained the process thoroughly. I have to admit, I was a little worried I would send my CDs off into oblivion and get nothing in return, but within a week, my check arrived. I bought a new iPhone 16GB 3GS for both me and my wife. I would recommend this service to anyone without hesitation. |

My CDs were stored in my living room in a media cabinet that was not large enough to hold them all. So they were piled on top of the cabinet and in other places around the house. Because I was primarily using my iPod to play music, I rarely played my CDs. I have a pretty eclectic taste in music so there were really no main genres to speak of. But there were a lot of female vocalists spanning the generations. From the Newsweek article. I figured that Newsweek had vetted it before publishing so it was worth pursuing. Because I already owned 2 iPods at the time, I gave the one I got from iPodMeister to a friend’s daughter for Christmas. I was very satisfied with iPodMeister, particularly the free shipping/delivery costs. |

I sent in 590 CDs of a wide variety of genres: Rock, Rap, Classical, Children, Gospel, Soundtracks, 1950’s to 2000’s. Someone had mentioned it to me so I went online and looked up your website, and I have to be honest I was very skeptical, who takes your used CDs and gives you a new iPod. I have to say you guys proved me wrong, you had excellent communication throughout the whole process, and did everything you said you would. You asked how many CDs I would be sending (not a manifest just the number) and you sent me prepaid FedEx labels. Now is where the scary part for me was, dropping off the boxes at FedEx and not knowing if I would ever see my 590 CDs again. Well a few days later after watching the tracking number and it showed that it was delivered I received an email telling me how many CDs were acceptable and to my surprise 584 were good and only 6 CDs didn’t make the cut and so for my 584 CDs of music I had in a box in my warehouse I received a BRAND NEW IN THE BOX 160gb iPod AND a check for $95 I honestly couldn’t believe it. The process was easy you did what you promised. |

I heard about iPodMeister while reading an article in Newsweek Magazine. My experience with iPodMeister was incredible. I asked via email a number of questions…even called and asked additional questions over the phone. After I mailed 800+ CD’s I was given a tracking number and kept in the loop on when I would receive my iPod. Everything went just the way it was explained to me on the website. I was so pleased with my experience I told all my friends about it on Facebook and a number of them ended up sending in their CD’s as well. The iPod I received was brand new and in sealed packaging just as if you purchased it from the Apple Store. I still have it and use it and I’m very pleased with it! |

A few years ago, I moved to Dayton, Ohio and had finished unpacking. As the months went by, I kept staring at the six boxes of compact discs that I had been lugging around from town to town. I had not unpacked them yet and, of course, had not listened to them as I had been listening to satellite radio – and as the saying goes “out of sight out of mind”. One evening I was finishing dinner and reading a copy of Newsweek magazine that featured an article about iPodMeister. Of course, I was leery as there are a lot of scams out there, but I read the reviews and called up the iPodMeister and felt that it was worth a try. If the deal was bogus then all I would be out would be the actual physical CDs and I was tired of lugging them around anyway. Within a few weeks I received a brand new iPod Touch. This device opened up a whole new world to me as it does so many things not the least of which is listening to music. My experience with iPodMeister was outstanding – everything was just as advertised – all in all, this is a great deal for everybody and one of the few where everyone is a winner. For me, my decision to trade my compact discs for the iPod touch was one of the smartest decisions that I have made. For those that have a lot of compact discs I would highly recommend that they seriously look into iPodMeister and their services. If it was not for the opportunity to do the trade I might not have ever been exposed to the iPod Touch. As I said it opens up everything including reading books through the Kindle app. My only regret is that I didn’t get the 32GB. But with a small amount of effort I am usually able to keep my usage just under 16GB. |
Nick L., East Brunswick, NJ
My collection had consisted primarily of rock and jazz, but also a mix of all kinds of genres…a few of this, a few of that. Plus, I had actually sent too many CDs for what had been required, just in case some did not meet their criteria. Soon, I was the recipient of a surprise check for the difference. I first heard of the company through a friend who knew I was looking to both sell my CDs and get an iPhone… I was kind of skeptical at the time, and was shocked I could possibly do it as one transaction, so I gave it a whirl. As it turned out, the company was great in answering my questions, the process went exactly as described, and I was kept posted throughout all stages of the transaction. So, everything was perfect, and I’ve raved about you to everyone since. |

All of my CDs were stored in disc towers in my house, I was very pleased to get rid of the towers and reclaim the much needed space. I have pitched your company to countless people since I’ve worked with you. When any discussion turns to iPods, I inevitably recount my interaction with your group. Most folks initially don’t believe it, as if it is almost too good to be true. I can then produce the actual iPod I received from you and I have to admit, people are impressed. As a corporate trainer, I have pitched your site to multiple classes over the past year plus. Your company serves as a great example to reference in class as an organization that provides exceptional customer service. I am certain I am not the only past customer who helps promote your company on a local level, I’m sure there must be folks all across the country all too willing to promote iPodMeister via word of mouth. You have such a novel concept, and your customer service was impeccable, it’s easy to sing your praises when that’s the case. I reached out to the customer service email address and they quickly advised what I needed to do to ship the CDs. They even accommodated my unique shipping requests with no fuss what-so-ever. The folks I spoke to via email were quick and most importantly they were human. A nice touch in today’s age of pre-packaged scripts and impersonal customer service. On top of all of this, I mailed my CDs around the Christmas timeframe, I figured I wouldn’t see my iPod for months. Not true at all, in addition to receiving multiple emails letting me know the status of my order, I received my item quickly and it was even nicer than I anticipated. Constant updates, great interactions, can’t say enough good things about your company. |
Katie S., Chicago, IL
We mostly kept our CDs in a couple of CD shelves or in boxes; some favorites were carted around in a CD case. And there was always a pile of loose ones scattered around the stereo. My guess would be either bOINGbOING or just by googling for a service; we were getting ready to move from Kansas City to Chicago, our fifth move in six years, and we were heartily sick of schlepping big boxes of our music along. We’d pared down the collection significantly, but it was still over 50 lbs. of discs and it was expensive! My first response was, I would guess, pretty typical: “This is too good to be true!” There was a slight miscommunication in the shipping/receiving process that was handled quickly and professionally (it was my own error and you guys fixed it with no problems, if I recall correctly). Would I do it again? YES. It’s an awesome deal and a great service, especially for those of us who are so mobile and with families. |

Many of the CDs were stored in boxes in my attic while others took up quite a bit of shelf space in my office. I found iPodMeister while looking for a service that would convert my CDs to MP3 files. Most of the services charged a per disc fee to convert them plus the cost of shipping. This really made those services cost prohibitive for the large amount of discs I wanted to convert. I was very skeptical at first since I would be relinquishing my CDs to them. However, after a lot of research into the company I decided to give their service a try and I was not disappointed. Before I sent my CDs to iPodMeister I had many questions. Their service was incredible. All of my emails were responded to in a prompt and friendly manner. Within a few weeks of sending my 650+ CDs, I had my converted files, a new iPod in hand, a check for the excess CDs I had sent and a lot more shelf space in my office. When I had a problem with a few of the converted discs, they sent me replacements within a few days. Overall the service is great! I would certainly recommend iPodMeister’s service to anyone who has a library of CDs just taking up space. As for my new iPod…I loved it! I say “loved” because it was recently stolen by someone doing repair work in our home. But I will replace it as soon as I can and I will have all of my tunes ready to load thanks to iPodMeister! Keep up the good work! |

When I first read about it, I thought there had to be some kind of “catch”. I first heard about iPodMeister in the Reader’s Digest. It took my husband and me about 4 months to jump in and do it. When we did, it was very easy to get in contact with someone from the company and to receive the emailed shipping labels. We shipped our boxes of CDs and waited for the confirmation that they were received. When that came we felt relieved. Then we waited for the check to come, and it did! I was so excited to go to the store and buy my iPhone 3GS! I absolutely love my device!! I don’t know what I did without it before! |

Selling something you’re not using, recycling and getting a check (or iPod). Win, Win, and Win! (I did sell a used cell phone to company in NY and got zero back so I was a tiny bit apprehensive). My wife and I had a little bit of everything in our music collection but mainly pop, rock, old school rap (the good stuff; A Tribe Called Quest, Outkast, Beastie Boys), and movie sound tracks. I heard about iPodMeister from a Star Tribune article. I looked over “http://www.ipodmeister.com” and loved the concept. My experience has been fantastic with iPodMeister, I’ve still got my emails from Abby. |

I had a large mix of CD’s and was moving from my house into a smaller condo. I did not have room for my CD collection. When the move was imminent, I gave you a call to start the process. I was very happy that I received an 8 GB Nano along with a check. It seemed just too good to be true and it happened exactly as advertised. I referred one of my friends to you (Jill N). I know she was pleased too. |
Miriam R., Burnsville, MN
The CD’s had begun to overtake space in my townhouse, as I had well over 500 CD’s. I also found that I wasn’t listening to my CD’s as often, because it wasn’t very convenient to search through all my CD’s. I actually had purchased an mp3 player from another company but I did not find it very user-friendly. I was intrigued, because it seemed like a great opportunity for me to get an iPod Touch and clean out some of my CD’s. I went to the iPodMeister web site where I read reviews, learned more about the concept, and began to decide whether or not I would actually try this. I emailed a few questions to the iPodMeister contact, and began to collect and sort through my CD’s. The biggest drawback to me was finding the boxes recommended to ship the CD’s. Once I had the boxes and contacted iPodMeister, I was able to print the shipping labels, arrange for the boxes to be picked up, and received confirmation that the product had been received. I was able to upgrade from the 8G to 16G iPod, based on the value for my CD’s, which made me very happy. The iPod Touch was shipped back to me in timely fashion, which I had requested for an upcoming bus trip. |

We received an 8GB iPod Touch. We gave it as a gift to our older daughter who uses it daily. We are extremely happy with the device. We heard about iPodMeister from a friend. At first I thought it couldn’t be true. I decided to look at the web site. It provided all the information I needed and I started collecting CD’s to send in. We had a number of CD’s that we were no longer listening to. I am extremely happy with iPodMeister. Shipping labels were provided for mailing in the CD’s. Communication was outstanding and the iPod arrived in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to use iPodMeister again. A second generation iPad would be the next thing I would consider. |

I first heard about iPodMeister through my wife who heard about it through a friend at her job. We didn’t think it was legit until her friend came in with her new iPad and said she had gotten it from trading in her old CDs to iPodMeister. Then we were believers… It was a very good experience because it was very simple. I live in NY so I was able to drop off the CDs directly to the warehouse (even though shipping was free) Once the CDs were counted I got a phone call telling me what my total was and then in just a few days the items were shipped out to me. I got a 2 TB Hard Drive, a 160GB iPod Classic, and $200 towards a 16GB iPhone 4 – I am using all of my devices all of the time and I am extremely happy with them! |
Dave B., Bronxville, NY
I read about iPodMeister in Metro. Loved it- the instructions were clear and free shipping is awesome. Really easy and straight forward. My wife and I were considering consolidating our collection and this seemed like a great way to encode our massive collection and get something in return. It’s great to have that extra space in our living room for sure. |
Samuel Y., San Diego, CA
I received a 3TB external hard drive in exchange for about 300+ DVDs from the site. I use it every single day to store all of my files. Who needs 3TB? Apparently, I do! Though I still haven’t used it all up. I think I first heard about iPodMeister from a Google search and I thought it was too good to be true. I relied on a lot of the customer testimonies and some articles and videos that clarified the function of the site. I thought it was a great idea since I had so many DVDs taking up space and collecting dust that I don’t get a lot of chances to watch anymore. It was the perfect timing for me because I was moving into a new place, and instead of buying another bookcase to house all of my DVDs, I decided to send them in to iPodMeister to get something else I really needed. I couldn’t have had an easier time with my transaction. The fact that they even paid for the shipping of the huge boxes was such a great bonus. It made it so much more convenient and easy to complete. I’m thinking about getting the new iPad2 the next chance I get. When I received my HD, I was really excited about the whole transaction that I went around telling all my friends about this site. It seems like a great win/win on all sides! |

As a music lover and avid collector, I had amassed over a thousand CDs in the years prior to the advent and accessibility of MP3s. I found that once I made the switch to digital music, my physical CDs started to collect dust and I rarely, if ever, listened to them. I never really thought much about doing anything with them just because I thought it would be a pain to try to sell them all in bulk somewhere. One day as I was reading some of my favorite daily blogs, I happened onto a couple of articles about iPodmeister, a service that would let me exchange my CD collection for a variety of electronic devices, with free shipping to boot. Though I was a little skeptical, the two articles came from very reputable sources, so I took the leap of faith and used the iPodmeister service. I printed out the shipping labels for two huge boxes of CDs, boxed them up, and sent them off. Communication was great throughout the process, from confirmation of receipt, to an email “appraisal” of the CDs, to payment via check for an Amazon Kindle 2. Since I already had my own Kindle, I gave the new one to my wife who loves it and uses it daily. I was extremely pleased with the whole process, and intend to use the service again in the future for the remaining 200 or so CDs that I still have. I would love to get a new Kindle Fire or iPhone. I have recommended this service to everyone I know who has CDs lying around. It’s the real deal, and couldn’t be easier. |
