How do we buy CDs?

  1. All items have to be in mint condition, i.e. without visible scratches, torn cover art, and underlinings or mark ups.
  2. All items have to come with complete cover art in mint condition, both front and back.
  3. All CDs/DVDs have to be in their original jewel case. Cracked or dusty jewel cases are okay.
  4. Boxsets containing more than one CD or DVD count depending on the number of discs in the set: a DVD boxset with a whole season of a TV series counts by the number of discs. A CD with a bonus DVD counts as two.
  5. We do NOT accept incomplete boxsets.
  6. We only accept DVDs with region code 1 (bought in the United States, Canada, Bermuda)
  7. We do accept audio books on CDs but they count half.
  8. We do not accept adult DVDs.
  9. We do not accept computer- and video games.
  10. We don’t take CDs which have initials or anything else written on the CD or the cover art.
  11. We accept CDs which are stamped “Promotional” on the disc or which have a “promo-,” “advance-” or any other sticker on the disc or cover art but they count less.
  12. We do accept CDs that have the bar code scratched out or punched out. We also accept CDs that have drill holes or promo stickers on the jewel case. They count half.
  13. We do accept so-called Club CDs, issued by BMG or Columbia House. They count half. You can recognize them by the words “manufactured for BMG” or “Columbia House” on the back cover art
  14. We do NOT accept bootleg, blank or demo CDs.
  15. We do NOT accept free-give-away CDs from stores such as the GAP, Victoria’s Secret, etc. or charity- and fundraising CDs but we do accept CDs released and sold by Starbucks or Time Life.
  16. We do NOT accept foreign language CDs if all of the title is written in a non-Latin alphabet, e.g. Greek, Russian, or Korean because we cannot catalogue them.
  17. We do accept import CDs as long as the title and artist are written in the Latin alphabet, for example in Spanish, German, Italian, etc.
  18. We usually only accept one item per title, i.e. we do not accept a dozen unsold, shrink wrapped CDs of a local bar band. If you have several CDs of one popular title, e-mail us the title(s) and we will let you know whether we are interested. We usually do accept two CDs of the same title if two people have combined their collections and if not more than 5% of the titles overlap.
  19. We reserve the right to refuse CDs from online merchants, wholesalers, record stores, record labels or anybody else trying to unload low priced inventory. We will not be responsible for the shipping costs involved in returning these CDs.
